My strengths and interests are in the languages, humanities and social sciences, and I have always performed very well in these subjects. English, Literature and Geography are the main subjects I teach, though I also have experience with teaching sciences and math at the primary school and lower secondary level. I have tutored close to 10 students, many of whom started off with shaky foundations. Most, if not all, have gone on to make commendable gains, from getting Cs and Ds to achieving As and Bs in both school and national exams. I am highly committed and goal driven, and believe in a strong partnership between my students, their parents, and myself. This will result in the best and most sustainable outcomes. I do not just think of short term improvements in results, but focus on instilling discipline and long term study and exam skills. I always sit down with my students at the onset of tuition to set out realistic goals. These goals will be reviewed periodically and adjusted should there be a need to. Finally, I am very patient with students and will make every effort to ensure that they understand concepts and ideas rather than plainly memorising them.
