The DUKW (later purported "duck") was a six-wheel-drive land and/or water capable truck that was outlined by General Motors Corporation amid World War II for transporting products and troops over land and water and for utilize drawing nearer and crossing shorelines in land and/or water capable assaults. The D shows a vehicle planned in 1942, the U signified "utility (land and/or water capable)", the K demonstrated all-wheel drive and the W showed two controlled back axles.
